October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, painting New York City pink through various fundraiser events. This past weekend, the Avon Walk traversed the concrete playground, ending in Hudson River Park with an impressive $9.5 million raised for the cause. We very much enjoyed some participants wearing the Save the Tata's shirt reading, "Save a Life, Grope Your Wife." That is the perfect example of how there are countless ways to show support, and each little bit helps. Above, New Jersey governor Jon Corzine joins the crowd in Sunday's 16th Annual Susan G. Komen Race for the cure next door in New Jersey. Haven't figured out what you're going to do to take part in spreading awareness? Hop to it! It's more important than your Halloween costume...

Plovgh, the new online farmers market
Who knew that the farming world had a trend? Well, Mallory Sustick, a Brooklyn bartender, works like a dog to maintain, promote and advance the online farmer's market startup Plovgh that began after noticing a need for more local farm market distribution.

There are so many ways to show support and increase awareness. As the number one form of cancer it is important for us all to do our part. These events bring on hope and get us closer to finding a cure.
