Perhaps the city's most celebrated hotel, The Plaza drips with an eau de grandeur all its own. The drama of the gold scrolled staircase as it unrolls into the lobby. The dime a dozen decadence with which chandelier after chandelier light your way. The expert professionalism of the concierges and waiters and footmen as they buzz about quietly, anticipating your next need. That $450 million renovation that the hotel saw back in 2008 was most definitely not for nothing, polishing up a veritable landmark, sparkling still after over 100 years in business largely due to the efforts of its daily staff. The doormen, the bell hops, all more attentive family than plain old staff - at least to Haya.
