Delays on Delays

The imposing Beaux Arts building of the Aman New York was acquired in 2015, after the company spent nearly a decade settling on the perfect location. But the development was plagued by delays. There was, obviously, a pandemic setback. Then, in February 2021, according to Curbed, a laborer died during construction "after falling through an improperly installed chute." By this year, the site earned "at least 34 Department of Buildings summonses for safety violations."

One initial member of the Aman New York Club told Airmail that they were told the establishment would open in "five to six weeks" after sending over $100,000. A year later, they were still waiting...
