Who she is: Iris Love is an archeologist by profession, but her true passion is her dogs -- one of whom won Best in Show at this year's Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. A recent profile of her in the Times noted that Iris has "been out-and-about in New York for at least six decades, long enough that Andy Warhol mentioned her in his diaries nine times.," and has spent the past 60 years rubbing elbows with the socially elite. Iris counted Brook Astor as a close friend -- enough so that when Brooke died in 2007, she left two of her prized dachshunds to Iris.
