ASMALLMAGAZINE, the new culture rag of online community ASMALLWORLD, along with Volkswagen, hosted a dinner honoring four design greats at Bobo last night. Honorees Andy Spade, Alice Temperley, Antony Todd and Maria Cornejo were handpicked for their innovative achievements in the world of design. Ogled by patrons downstairs as they arrived, a bevy of 'It' girl fashionistas turned up to support their peeps: Julia Reston-Roitfeld, Sophia Hesketh, Poppy Delevigne and Lauren Goodman were guests of Brit designer Alice Temperley and her husband Lars. While ASMALLMAGAZINE's editor-in-chief Sabine Heller, Melissa Bent, model Kiera Chaplin and Serena Merriman donned dresses by cult-favourite Maria Cornejo.

Model/actress Byrdie Bell dared to wear the edgiest ensemble of the night—a white sequined vintage top that she purchased on eBay.

As to the real purpose of the night: "There are the people with new designs and new ideas, and we wanted to bring them all together," explained Volkswagen's Laura Soave. "The new VW CC is all about bringing sharp, edgy but long-lasting design into our everyday lives," added Sabine Heller. "The designers we are honouring have a similarly enduring effect in these fleeting times." Crammed into the upstairs of the West Village hot-spot, the revelers mingled, danced, noshed on roast chicken and apple crisp and raised lemony vodka concoctions, courtesy of Double Cross, till the midnight hour.

To the delight of many party-goers, celebrating design on this night was fun and a guilt-free experience; doctor Malcolm Lloyd explained, from his perch at the bar, that there are health benefits to drinking vodka. "It's good for you," he insisted. We'll raise a glass to that.
