Both the NYC Ballet and the American Ballet Theater will be performing their own renditions of The Nutcracker until New Year's Eve. The NYC Ballet has gone with the traditional George Balanchine version of the show and is performing at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center.
ABT presents a more contemporary version, choreographed by Alexei Ratmansky, which is showing at BAM in Brooklyn. Either way, this show is a holiday staple that everyone must see at some point.
