Visit a Museum
It turns out that some of the best art to be found is located in Long Island City. From small galleries to museums, there isn’t a shortage of art in the neighborhood. MoMA PS1 Founded in 1971, MoMA PS1 is the most well-known museum in Long Island City. The museum is devoted to contemporary art and pursuing new artists and genres. Along with exhibitions, the space holds events year round, like Sunday Sessions through the winter months and Warm Up in the summer. Stop by and check out the exhibits, or head out for live music and performing arts during Warm Up. It’s about 27,000 square feet of non-stop galleries and exhibitions. Noguchi was a pioneer of the art culture in Long Island City, and the museum is meant to preserve his vision. To see more go HERE.
