It's one of the city's best kept summer secrets: the outdoor pool at the Thompson LES. It has a filmstrip image of Andy Warhol photo lithographed onto the tile at the pool floor, the work of artist Gerard Malanga, Warhol's muse and confidant during the iconic days of the Factory.  Need something to get you through this treacherous afternoon of storms? Astoria Park pool in Long Island City has one of the largest and most popular swimming facilities in the country, with a main pool and diving pool that meet Olympic standards, as well as a wading pool. At 330 feet in length, the main pool is the largest in New York City, according to the Web site. The best part - it's free! But a word of warning, it gets a little crowded here. [Daily News]
