Last night, NYC's coolest hipsters congregated at The Blind Barber to knock back some cocktails and celebrate its opening. The bar's bronze and vintage-inspired interior combined with kitschy barber shop feel (complete with striped pole!) provided a unique backdrop for dancing and tunes spun by DJ Tim Barber. -

Guests sipped drinks like The Sweeney Todd, a potent concoction made of Irish whiskey, egg white, lemon juice and honey syrup, while lounging on antique settees. An eclectic mix of creative types, urban fashionistas, and plaid-shirted boys looked right at home while mingling and perusing the enviable collection of antique photographs.

The Blind Barber joins the ranks of other salon-bar hybrids such as The Beauty Bar, site of the 'original manicure happy hour'. Martinis are paired with none other than mani-pedis. The Blind Barber offers a fresh new take on the salon-saloon experience that is far more testosterone-friendly.

While haircuts or shaves weren't on the itinerary for the opening, the bar's affordable deal of $40 haircut or $30 shave paired with any drink of choice is too good to pass up. Add a hearty pie from next door's Gnocco for a match made in heaven.

Dubbed the 'ultimate experience in multitasking', The Blind Barber combines drinking, grooming and socializing in a creative new mash-up that's bound to be a hit.
