Along with Wu, special guests included Donna Karan, Anna Sui, Genevieve Jones, Nina Garcia, Bryan Boy, and Sheila Johnson. The designers and friends were excited to see each other, hugging one another as they met along the carpet. Meanwhile, a cocktail party upstairs featured a live DJ and servers handing out champagne on silver platters. Party-goers could bid on a silent auction while munching on bite-sized appetizers or ordering various cocktails from the drink bar. Later, the Parsons Benefit presented three exciting, beautiful fashion shows designed by the graduating class of 2014. The show's music was energetic, upbeat, and bold, featuring songs such as "Turn Down For What" by DJ Snake and Lil Jon. Speakers included Simon Collins, Dean of The New School, as well as Nina Garcia, Anna Sui, and Jason Wu. Hugo Boss announced a $250,000 donation towards a scholarship for The New School. Lastly, Parsons announced the 2014 Designers of the Year for menswear, womenswear, and children's wear.
