Mercedes-Benz Evolution Tour with Alabama Shakes, Mr. Brainwash, and Questlove

Other details: Last night, Mercedes-Benz launched their new Evolution Tour with a massive party at Terminal 5. The car manufacturer went all out to ensure the first of their 9-stop tour was a hit, and they succeeded with all the offerings of the night. Guests walked in to see the new Mercedes GLA, one of which was to be painted by renowned artist Mr. Brainwash, before exploring the 3 floors of the venue. Heineken and cocktails were open at all of the bars, and both KIND Bars and Pop-Chips were free for the guests to munch on. In addition to photo booths and Mercedes-Benz displays, there was also a free screen-printed t-shirt service on the second floor, where guests could choose a design by Mr. Brainwash for a shirt or tank-top.
As the three floors filled up, Questlove took center stage to begin his DJ set. The crowd cheered as he played a string of hits across all genres, creating an amazing energy for the party. Near the end of the set, guests crowded around one of the all-white GLAs in anticipation of Mr. Brainwash's entrance. He swiftly walked in and immediately grabbed one of the paint cans lying beside the car. He began throwing paint on the car, which was soon entirely covered. At one point, he accidentally splashed paint on a woman as he walked around ; the two decided to go with it, and he continued to splash paint on her black skirt, turning it into both artwork and an unforgettable memory for the woman. Following this spectacle, the Alabama Shakes finally went on. The crowd easily got into the set, especially with their more popular songs like "Hold On." Stylish guests, including Hannah Bronfman, Derek Blasberg, Hilary Rhoda, and Nicky Hilton, were immediately hooked to the music and danced throughout the night. The car Mr. Brainwash painted will make its way to the other stops of the tour as well, which will feature performers including Mayer Hawethorne, and will end in Los Angeles.
