Last Night's Parties: Martin Scorsese Screens Fellini, Karl Lagerfeld Celebrates Artistic Passion

by Mara Siegler · June 2, 2011

A ton of A-listers celebrated La Dolce Vita; Arianna Huffington went to the Gordon Parks Awards; Ed Burns celebrated love and diamonds; Hugh Jackman tasted the new dishes at Spice Market; Maggie Gyllenhaal performed in a play; Paris Hilton attempted to regain relevance; Cookie Monster and Elmo dined at Cipriani and more! Last night's parties are glad that post-Memorial Day lull is over and things are back to buzzing in Manhattan!

Where: Tribeca Grand Hotel, Top of the Standard

Who Was There: Martin Scorsese, Vera Farmiga, Emily Mortimer, Sir Ben Kingsley, Adrien Brody, Patricia Clarkson, Josh Hartnett, John Legend, Tony Bennett, Susan Sarandon, Matthew Broderick, Helena Christensen, Darren Aronofsky, Paul Haggis, Gina Gershon, Leelee Sobieski, Jena Malone, Russell Simmons, Michael Pitt, Kelly Rutherford, Nora Zehetner, Samantha Mathis, Karen Elson, Stavros Niarchos, Celine Rattray, Daniel Benedict, Johannes Huebl, Irina Pantaeva, Magge Betts, Jamie Tisch, Andrew Saffir

Other Details: After a screening of Federico Fellini’s La Dolce Vita, brought to guests by the one and only Martin Scorsese, the A-list crowd heads over to the Top of the Standard. Karen Elson, Leelee Sobieski and a headband adorned Arden Wohl sat at a banquette chatting, Josh Harnett drew gasps and googly eyes from ladies and certain gents, and Adrien Brody gave his attention to a skinny blond. While I can't find any pics to confirm my Jack Daniels-impaired spotting, I am pretty sure I saw Jessica Simpson and she looked plumper and less well kempt than usual causing someone next to me to muse out loud, "Are those extensions?" If it was her, she's definitely pulling her look from Britney Spears. At left, Susan Sarandon dishes with Matthew Broderick in what I'd like to imagine is a scene from Ferris Bueller's Day Off : The 30 Year Reunion. [Via]
