Last Night's Parties: Social Media Week Kicks Off, Kim Kardashian Pisses Off Prince

Social Media Week kicked off in a flurry of hashtags, Ivanka Trump showed off her jewels and her baby bump, while Clay Aiken flexed his vocal chords to a song normally sung by a woman. Hayden Christensen screened his new flick, Alec Baldwin went bowling, and Kim Kardashian pissed off Prince. It was a busy night. Let's hop in.

The Cinema Society Screening & After party for "VANISHING ON 7th STREET"

Who Was There: Russell Simmons, Hayden Christensen, Natasha Bedingfield, Eve, Alex Lundqvist, Keytt Lundqvist, Olivier Theyskens, Amy Sacco, Carlos Leon

Other Details: Hayden Christensen, looking shorter in person like all actors, came out for the screening of his new horror, sci-fi flick whose plot features darkness (literally) as the villain. After watching the movie everyone head over to the new LES mega club, Beauty & Essex, where Russell Simmons and Eve hung out at a banquet and gabbed, while 14 year old Jacob Latimore enjoyed the attention he was getting from his first film role. Other Details: Ivanka Trump and other high-powered, high class ladies came out last night to look at pretty, sparkly things to accessorize their already perfect outfits. Tweeted: "At Ivanka Trump on Madison. Supermodel LINDA VOJTOVA Celebrates 10 Years with Exhibit "LOVE LINDA VOJTOVA"

Other Details: This exhibit includes art, photos, and jewelry revolving around Czech model Linda Vojtova. Her agency blog says: "Celebrating 10 years in fashion, the Czech beauty has spent two entire months traveling to shoot the content that will be unveiled in an evening where art and fashion come together under the banner of a great cause."

THE DRAMA LEAGUE'S 27th Annual All-Star Benefit Gala Celebrating the Life and Career of PATTI LuPone

Who Was There: Justin Guarini, Patti LuPone, Laura Benanti, Nick Adams, Ann Hampton Callaway.

Other Details: Two-time Tony Award winner Patti LuPone was honored last night during this black tie benefit. Guests were rapt by the post dinner performances by Laura Benanti, Liz Callaway, Howard McGillin, Donna Murphy, Anika Noni Rose and Michael Urie. [Via]

Broadway Backwards 6 Performance and After Party

Where: Longacre Theatre , John's Pizzeria

Other Details: At this fundraiser for Broadway Cares and the LGBT Center of NYC, male stars belted out songs traditionally sung by women and vice versa. A self-admitted Claymate blogged: “The obvious highlight for this Clay Aiken fan was seeing Clay shine on the Broadway stage as he performed Home from The Wiz. He started quietly and slowly built to a powerful climax. He sang from his heart and the audience was moved by his outstanding performance. As the applause continued, Clay returned to the stage for a second bow. Appropriately, Clay seemed right at ‘Home’ in the Broadway stage.” [Via]

Other Details: There was a warm vibe with lots of candles and wine, as those in the media poked fun of themselves. According to the hot topic was Tiger Mothers. John Carney elected himself the Pharaoh of Foursquare.

Other Details: Pretty much everyone at the party had head over from either the Social Media Week event at the New York Public Library or De Santos so the open bar-induced buzz was on. The cordoned off space was small and it got claustrophobic quick. The close quarters led to more networking than usual though, since you involuntarily found yourself face-to-face smashed up against someone every time you attempted to step in any direction, making it somewhat impossible to not at least say hello and small talk.

Other Details: This is hilarious. Prince pulled Kim Kardashian on stage during the concert last night expecting her to dance. When she stood  still, he told her “Get off the stage!”

“OMG Prince just pulled me up on stage!!! I’m shaking!!!!” Kim Tweeted. “I was so nervous I froze when Prince touched me!!!!” She got a second shot though.  “Went up on stage AGAIN! This time I redeemed myself! We all danced while Prince played the piano! Wow! What a night!” Kim Tweeted. [Via]
