2014 American Museum of Natural History Museum Dance

Where: American Museum of Natural History Other details: Last night, the American Museum of Natural History had their 2014 Museum Dance to raise funds and celebrate the Museum's vast collection of natural artifacts. The night kicked off with dinner in the Milstein Hall of Ocean Life, beneath the famous blue whale model which has come to be the image of the museum. Guests then headed to the Cullman Hall of the Universe, where a bar and DJ booth were set up for the after-party. The guests, including a younger set of philanthropists and art enthusiasts, passed by the incredible array of specimen - including tigers, bears, and other mammals - as they filtered into the after-party. They gathered around the Willamette Meteorite, where they danced by tunes provided by the famous DJ (who toured with Jay Z and Justin Timberlake last year) Jus Ske. Elizabeth Kurpis, Melanie Lazenby, Charles Rockefeller, and more danced the night away in great spirits. There was also a silent auction featuring items like John Lobb shoes, vacation packages, and Yankees tickets. The event also followed a long list of museum galas in a very busy 2014 so far. When we asked event Chair Jon Kurpis what his favorite moment in 2014 was, he simply said the fact that we're here now, still continuing to give to support these great causes. Following the event, VIP guests headed to TAO Downtown where they continued to celebrate late into the night.
