The Sunflower Children held its third annual poker, fashion and sports gala at the Hammerstein Ballroom on Friday. Daniel and Derek Koch, the brothers behind some of New York's most popular boozy brunches, didn't actually try and kill each other, but they did take to the ring for a charity boxing match.
We'd be lying to ourselves if we thought all the quality time spent together, laced with loads of alcohol, didn't occasionally inspire one of the brothers to, you know, throw a punch or two (or maybe a flabong-o) at the other one. When the $hit finally hit the fan, how fortunate that the stress release could double as a fundraiser for a good cause!
The pseudo brawl was only one part of the night's entertainment, as there was also a poker tournament, Bagatelle dinner and live auction. All the punches thrown and fun had went toward providing baby formula and nutritional care throughout the first year of life for underprivileged infants.
For the record the match was "very even and considered a draw." Imagine that.
