Question Of The Day!

Jul 30, 2009 2:52 PM

This is so exciting I can barely stand it. In order to get a little more reader involvement up on the site (as opposed to my inbox), we're going to be asking you questions! Please oh please comment in the comment section so we can all get some dialogue going. FUN! Have a question you want answered? Just email me and I'll probably put it up if it's not too goofy. So, today's question;

Is The Jane Ballroom Comparable To Bungalow 8 In It's HeyDay? Rachelle Thinks So....Do YOU????? (Or do you just think she's crazy?)

Ugh, I hope Jane Ballroom doesn't become like Bungalow 8...I like how it's sort of under the radar now, and will be sad if it becomes THE "it" place to be. I really don't want to have to wrestle the Olsen Twins to get to the bar....

Nothing will EVER be comparable to Bungalow 8 at its peak

Rachelle thinks so? She wasnt even in nyc during bungalows heday. Stick to covering events that are happening now instead of pretending you were around during the good old days in nyc. No matter what you say you will always be a tourist here sweetheart, this isn't your city.

This place is so fun, but by this time next month, there will be a million 16-year-olds trying to get in the door

re: Brett "stick to events that are happening now" ..... So I think the point of this post was that the Jane Ballroom is happening now....? ...so.... she is?? but, uhm, thanks for that, Brett, it was very insightful

This place is already on the decline. Too many scenesters, too many sloppy drinkers.

As long as people are still taking mind altering drugs and having sex with many people in a consequence free enviroment, then i'm sound as a pound.

ha, re: ashley -- i saw mary kate at the jane last week so its too late for that! also, UES, saw the couples making out last night as well upstairs...def the place to be lots of fun and great vibe/crowd/music. also ive seen princess beatrice and princess eugenie there this week -- the royals are invading the jane! along with the nypd, that is.

GR: OMG, royals??! The one thing that NYC is truly missing. If I hear that Prince Harry or one of the Casiraghis from Monaco frequent it, I will camp out at The Jane for a month.

It's like B8 in its day...mmm probably not. Ever. Like rose in its day, almost. Like beatrice in its day, maybe someday.... Actually it's like rose meets bowery because that is what is was built to be. I've had memorable nights in both places so not a bad goal.

Okay not that i have to defend anything, simko is from here, she's the one that made the comparison and she rocks. that is all. oh wait, no it's not, I'm from NEBRASKA, not Iowa. It's a great state and I'm proud to be from there.

My best memory of Bungalow 8 is turning up to my own party a few years back and being declined by the door. I had the time of my life at the dive down the road...
