Liza with a Z was apparently both flattered and surprised to hear herself referred to as cultural (And gay...) icon. She told Variety:
“I don’t understand it. To me I’m just a gypsy. Every time people say something like that, I’m started and thrilled and grateful. And all that jazz. Me? An icon? A gay icon? I love it!”
Uhm, Liza? Are you seriously this surprised? You've been a gay icon since before I was born. This can't seriously be news to you!

She is such a talented artist. I admire her and the way she talks about her orientation too... As a member of the gay community in America, I must say that she is the kind of person we all feel identified with, We are like everybody else. We enjoy going to the beach, using the apparel we want, buying at our favorite www.idakoos.com"] rel="nofollow">t-shirt shop and I'm glad many people accept that.
