If you build it, they will come. ‘It’ of course meaning avocado toast, and ‘them’ meaning the trendy pack of cool kids du jour. For maybe the first weekend in forever, we doubt anyone will be killing themselves waiting for a table outside at steadfast Nolita hotspot Café Gitane. Loaf about inside with all of the other downtown beautiful people making an indoor affair of things. Add a glass of fresh watermelon juice and a plate of apple slices strewn with a ribbon of brie for a delicious yet waif-ishly French tablescape. Oh, and don’t forget the avocado toast. Though honestly, I don’t think they let you leave until you’ve ordered it.
