PHILIPPE TO OPEN IN EAST HAMPTON Eagerly anticipated East End outpost and off-site catering to be available for Summer 2009

New York, NY, April 6th 2009—Philippe Chow is proud to announce the opening of Philippe in East Hampton on May 14th. After many years of consideration, Philippe will finally open at 44 Three Mile Harbor Road, which formerly housed the The Kobe Club. In addition to the East Hampton location, catering from Philippe will be available throughout the East End, with Philippe Chow himself available to cook in private homes and boats.

The East Hampton location will be the brand’s fourth outpost of Philippe, and will follow the same unique formula that has made it successful in New York City, Mexico City and Miami Beach. The space will feature indoor and outdoor dining options, as well as several areas for lounging, including an outside Tiki bar. Philippe East Hampton will offer its classic dishes and cocktails, including the Nine Seasons Spicy Prawns, Peking Duck, and Chicken Satay, as well as the Philipptini and Shangai Philippe. The full menu will also be available for take-out and all off-site catering, making it the perfect option for both intimate dinner parties and larger galas alike.

In order to honor the memory of friend to Philippe and NYC icon Braden Keil, Philippe East Hampton will donate a percentage of sales from Memorial Day to Labor Day to the American Cancer Society in his name. “For the past three years we have been faced with rumors of Philippe opening in the Hamptons, which up until this point have been false ”, says co-owner Stratis Morfogen. “It gives us great joy to finally make that rumor a truth, and to dedicate the opening to one of our greatest supporters”. Philippe East Hampton will be open Sunday- Thursday from 5pm-1am, with food service extended until 2 am on Friday and Saturday nights, and bar service extended until 4 am. The restaurant will also be available for private parties.

    About Philippe:

Philippe is the eponymous restaurant of Chef/owner Philippe Chow, the talented Hong Kong native who helmed Mr. Chow for 27 years before opening his own New York City flagship with partner Stratis Morfogen. Philippe draws upon his classical culinary training, putting his own spin on traditional Chinese cuisine with results that are modern, flavorful and theatrical. The atmosphere at the restaurant is minimalist and stylish, with a devoted nightly following that makes up a “who’s who” of the music, media and film industries.
