10. Steirereck, Austria
"Modern Austrian" cuisine may not sound familiar for even the most well-traveled of tongues, but Vienna's Steirereck restaurant makes it seem like every eater should experience it. While wiener schnitzel is indeed on the menu, it's Chef Heinz Reitbauer's char in beeswax with yellow carrot, pollen and sour-cream that stands out.
