Where To Buy Your Very Own Vuvuzela

by Chiara Atik · June 17, 2010

You've heard them on while watching the matches on TV, you've followed the controversy, and you wikipedia'd to find out exactly what they are. Now, vuvuzela's have been banned from Yankee Stadium, which just means one thing: It's time to get your own. But where can you find this South African knick-knack in NYC?-

Well, it wasn't easy, but we've scoured the internet and found some options. You'll be the most popular person at the bar this Saturday!

    $10 in Bayside!

Someone is selling a "VUVUZELA AKA SOCCER HORN" in Bayside for only $10. We like their description, "that noise in the background that sounds like a swarm of bees, is the Vuvuzela." The seller rightfully states that there are three weeks left of gameplay, and it's time to really support your team! $10 seems like a steal for this one.

Craigslist ad HERE; email the seller for more information.

$64 for Six of them on Ebay!

Obviously, Ebay is taking full advantage of the Vuvuzela Craze. There are a ton of deals right now, including this deal that gets you six of them for only 64 dollars. They're available in Red, Orange, Blue, Black, Yellow, and Green, so pretty much any team you could possibly be cheering for (blowing for?) is covered. The only downside? 5-14 day delivery, so you pretty much want to order ASAP to ensure it arrives before your team gets eliminated...

    $12 on Amazon!

Amazon horns are a bit more expensive, but also come in a variety of colors, and will ship a bit sooner than some of the Ebay ones.

Don't forget to buy a sock cover for your vuvuzela

If you have 50 friends who love soccer as much as you do, consider ordering these "sock covers" for vuvuzelas, available for all the top World Cup Teams. There's a 50 unit minimum order...but it would be WORTH it to have those if your team wins, right?

....Or you could just settle for the iPhone App.

Vuvuzela? There's an app for that! (Sorry...)

You can customize it to look like whatever team you're rooting for, and even change it based on the game (not that THAT anyone will really see your iPhone, but YOU'LL know the difference.)

The app description says it will "bring the thrill of the stadium straight into your living room". Well, we're not sure how "thrilling" it will actually be, but since it's free, we'll take it!
