With her affinity for socializing and statement jewelry,
Alexa Von Tobel is a woman after our own hearts—not to mention the fact that she's been making major waves in both the tech and finance worlds since 2009. The Harvard grad thought up the idea of
LearnVest as a Business School student in 2006, after realizing that nothing on the market offered formalized training for managing personal finances. Since having your numbers together is kind of a big deal in life, Alexa decided to take matters into her own hands and launched the site that has since put her on the map (and on a number of prestigious Best-Of lists in the biz). In 2012 she hosted the first installment of LearnVest LIVE, which featured lectures by designer Cynthia Rowley, Top Chef judge Simmons, Marie Claire editor and Project Runway mentor Joanna Coles, and Gilt Groupe Co-Founder Alexandra Wilkis.
