I Don't Know Who Needs To Hear This, But "Outlander" Is On Netflix

As someone who writes about culture for a living, I kind of have to be plugged into the zeitgeist. But with only 24 hours in a day, and a vague need to sleep for at least two of them, I admit I've saved some things for a rainy day, however many years after they've debuted. Especially if we're talking about a TV show on a random channel like Starz.

But, after seeing off Game of Thrones for good, and once again craving some sexy, action-packed, period piece drama, I've finally started watching Outlander. Its recent appearance on Netflix is to thank - or blame, considering I've spent about 10 hours straight catching up on the first season and may or may not be speaking with a Scottish accent now.

Anyway, the show about 1940s World War II nurse, Claire, finding herself thrown back in time to the rough n' tumble Scottish Highlands of the 18th century premiered in 2014 and is already filming for Season 5. So yeah, I'm pretty late, and perhaps you are too. But for some bodice-ripping heat and a very buff Sam Heughan (who plays Claire's rugged love interest, Jamie) in a kilt, it's totally worth dedicating a few Netflix binge nights to, and deciding that you are now an Outlander person.

    Seriously, it is so good.
