Much criticism arose from local media that this season of Top Chef did little to take advantage of the New York stage set in front of them. With the exception of Le Bernadin, it is hard to pinpoint any moment where a viewer was offered a taste of the City (the hotdog “quick fire” was foul). Attempts to take fans through tours of Little Italy, Curry Hill, Chinatown, and the Boroughs were way off point, and could have been filmed in any specialty store around the country.
