Yes, they really do exist.  A real treehouse in the heart of New York City! This family (of artists from what we could gather from the studio windows of their apartment) has built a pretty amazing hideout for their child(ren).  Snapped by Stephanie Wei from her living room window, this is in the middle of some buildings in LO-FI (lower fifth avenue), and its the best thing we've seen all day.
