The Boozy Apple Cider Slushie You'll Be Drinking All Autumn Long

by Stephanie Maida · October 4, 2016

Not satisfied with your Hocus Pocus and your PSL? Add one more thing to the #BasicBitch guide to fall: the boozy cider slushie. Forget Frosé (at least until Memorial Day) and embrace its seasonal equivalent all autumn long.

Originated at Willa Jean restaurant in New Orleans, this particular slushie recipe combines apple cider, bourbon, ginger beer, and chai tea to create an aromatic cocktail that simply tastes like fall. Thanks to Tasting Table, you can mix some up at home - we won't tell if you take it pumpkin picking with you.

    Ingredients:
    4½ cups apple cider, divided
    1 cup bourbon
    1 cup ginger beer
    ¾ cup cold chai tea
    ¼ cup lemon juice

Directions: Pour 3 cups of the apple cider into an ice tray and freeze until solid, 4 to 6 hours. Once frozen, transfer the cubes to a blender with the remaining ingredients and blend into a smooth slushie consistency. Divide between glasses and serve.
