Hooray for a new year's list that doesn't feel like a cheap throwaway! This year, one of our favorite publications, the French quarterly WAD Magazine, has taken on the ambitious project of creating a comprehensive urban fashion dictionary, one that includes more than 500 fashion industry terms, trends, brands, shops, models, designers, and, as their blog states "all those who we believe are urban-fashion scene’s key actors, the scene that’s fascinated and excited us over this past decade." The behemoth of a directory is formatted alphabetically in both English and French, and is truly a testament to the past ten years of the fashion world, released in December to celebrate WAD's own 10th anniversary.

Times are tight, and patronizing the international glossy magazine industry may seem a bit extravagant, but the Dictionary Issue is certainly worth the investment: it's poised to act as a reference for the urban fashionista for many years to come. Find the new issue at any international newsstand this month.
