A Man Is Suing An Airline Company For Not Serving Champagne

by Stephanie Maida · October 19, 2017

Does this mean we can finally sue the LIRR, various movie theaters, and Whole Foods for the same reason? We mean, this guy gets us. Champagne is a basic human right.

The hero of this story is one Daniel Macduff, a Canadian man who booked a flight to Cuba through Sunwing Airlines. Marketing materials for the trip had explicitly promised a complimentary champagne toast. When Mr. Macduff boarded, however, he was absolutely horrified to find that they had served - brace yourselves - sparking wine, instead.

    The gall, am I right?

Macduff has filed a class action lawsuit against Sunwing, along with 1,600 other wronged passengers. According to the BBC, his lawyer maintains, "It's not about the pettiness of champagne versus sparkling wine. It's the consumer message behind it."

    We totally agree.
