The Weather: “Bring a bathing suit. Bring a sweater.”

Admittedly, the weather in Los Angeles is gorgeous. While I hear tell of hurricanes, snowstorms, and krakens ravaging the East Coast, it all seems but a dream from a mid-January nap on Santa Monica Beach, as the sapphire waves sparkled under a golden sun. But in reality, it does rain occasionally. And it does get cold. I think of Los Angeles as a city that experiences three seasons in one day. The morning is a dewy Spring, the afternoon heats to Summer, and the evening cools to a brisk Autumn. To prepare for these sudden temperature shifts, particularly in the cooler seasons, I follow this rule: “Bring a bathing suit. Bring a sweater.” The pool party can quickly turn to a huddle around the fire pit, so be prepared. And if you want snow, just drive to Bear Mountain! [Photo via]
