Retired designer Valentino hosted a Paris couture week send-off lawn party on Wednesday night at his gorgeous eight-bedroom, Louis XIII-style, Château de Wideville.

The chateau, which is apparently one of his more humble abodes (love to see what one of the "better" houses would look like!) was lit up in fuchsia as a star-studded array of guests, including Liz Hurley, Jane Fonda, Jessica Alba, Gwyneth Paltrow, Marc Jacobs and Gossip Girls' Blake Lively and Leighton Meester, socialized over sprawling immaculate lawns, complete with an estimated one million blooms nestled amidst sculptured topiaries.

A buffet dinner and tiramisu dessert was served in a clear tent, that had to be reached by crossing a moat - oh how very 17th century upper class daarlinkg! After dinner Jesus Luz, a.k.a Mr Madonna tried on another career aside from modelling and cougar handbag and spun electro tunes for the bold-faced crowd.

Who needs a fashion show? Everybody’s here,” quipped Vogue’s Anna Wintour, leading Blake Lively on a tour of Valentino’s new private museum, its first exhibition showcasing thousands of original sketches.

The tanned maestro spent most of the evening trailed by a butler, wandering around with his newest fashion accessory, one of his beloved pugs. So very chic!
