Last night, around 2:13 am, Ashton Kutcher (@aplusk) was the first Twitter user to reach the million followers mark.  People around the world celebrated as the star beat out CNN (who passed the mark at 2:42 am).  Kutcher started the challenge against CNN saying if he won he woudl donate 10,000 mosquito bed nets to charit for World Malaria Day.  The battle raged on through the night, with live stats on multiple sites.  [CNN]
