We Want Our Tellyvision

by Joseph Russell · June 24, 2008

singer plays the stephen talkhouseAttention hipsters and indie rockettes: tonight, the Talkhouse will be filled with the freewheeling acoustic rock of the singer/songwriter Telly, and you will love him. Telly's voice is rough and slightly thin, and he tends towards winsome and hyper-ennunciated ramblings. His guitar skills ground the music; they're lilting and fairly simple. While I've yet to meet a ballad I like, the rest of Telly's originals are uniformly pleasant, and often excellent, and he has a real flair for covers. He goes on at 11; tickets are $10 at the door.
