Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, Robert Schenkkan, and award winning composer/lyricist Neil Berg present the World Premiere of their new rock musical/concert THE 12, with an All star Broadway and Rock & Roll cast. Previews will be on March 19, 20, and 21 at RIVERSPACE theater in Nyack, NY, and the World Premiere will be at the Broward Center in Ft. Lauderdale on April 1st. Produced by Adam Friedson and Leftfield Productions, this musical is one of the most thrilling and authentic rock musicals ever produced! The acclaimed director is Richard Seyd, with music direction by Wendy Bobbitt Cavett (current conductor of Mamma Mia on Broadway).
The 12 takes one of the most well known stories in history and explores the least known and most intriguing aspects of it: how twelve ordinary individuals torn apart by the unthinkable death of their leader came together to create one of the most powerful movements ever known to mankind.
A thrilling rock and roll concert set in the context of an underground rock band performing what might be their last concert together, the 12 will feature former Anthrax guitarist Dan Spitz on guitar and as �Phillip.� VH1�s Best Undiscovered Artist Sophia Ramos, who toured as a featured vocalist with Rage Against the Machine and Soundgarden in the Lollapalooza tour, will appear as �Mary Magdelene.� Cast as "Simon" is James Lewis, current lead singer of Trans Siberian Orchestra, and great rock singer Elaine Caswell, who sang with Joe Jackson and Jim Steinman, is playing "Mother Mary" and "Devil"
They will be joined by a cast of Broadway stars including Ron Bohmer (The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Ragtime) as "Peter," Jeremey Kushnier (Rent, Footloose) as �Thomas�, Lawrence Clayton (Dreamgirls, The Civil War) as �Matthew�, and Sean Jenness ( The Civil War, Doug Flutie Band) as "Bart".
Composer and lyricist Berg�s original score pairs each apostle with a well-known, classic rock style referencing U2, The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Eric Clapton, AC/DC, Anthrax, Aretha Franklin, Nirvana and many other of rock ‘n rolls greatest bands.

This was just the beginning of the Julia Allison Christmas celebration, as each day, we find ourselves falling more and more in love with Minnie. From Santa in NYC to Christmas dinners up in Boston, do NOT expect Julia to settle any time soon. We have a whole 17 days left until we can look forward to the New Years dresses, and then comes President's Day? St. Patty's Day? Easter? (Not quite sure if Julia goes all out for Valentine's Day but we WILL be holding our breath).
