Accompanied Literary Society Hosts Oscar Viewing Party And Benefit for ALS Book To-Film Grant

The Accompanied Literary Society hosted an exclusive Oscar viewing party benefiting the ALS Book-to-Film Grant at the Hudson Hotel’s library Sunday evening. The Oscar Pool and Casino night hosted some of New York’s finest literary minds for the 81st Annual Oscar ceremony. ALS’s Brooke Geahan, David Shamoon, Hannah Borum, and Julia Collier entertained guests including Zadie Smith, Arden Wohl, Lyman Carter, Emma Snowdon-Jones, Martin Dawson, Jennifer Wright, David Chines, Camilla Stark, and Summer Rej.

The night consisted of an array of cocktails sponsored by Moet et Chandon while gambling at black jack and roulette tables. Guests were also able to enter an Oscar pool, with prizes including an Oscar de la Renta snakeskin clutch, dinner for four at Bagatelle, a Knicks jersey signed by Nate Robinson, a Bull & Ross vintage 120 watch, a gift certificate to La Esquina, a David Chu Bespoke Suit, a limited edition Assouline art book, brunch at Delicatessen, an Intermix shopping spree, and many more amazing prizes. Not too shabby!

Also on hand were tie designer Timo Weiland, Corynne Steindler, Shallon Lester, Kristian Laliberte, David Rabin, Eleanor Banco, Fabrizio Volterra, Ben Pundole, and Jenna Sauers.

A portion of the evening’s proceeds went towards the ALS’ book-to-film grant, which will be awarded to a writer or writing team in the process of breaking into film. Overall, it was the perfect way to spend a Hollywood evening in New York City.
