Cardiovascular Research Foundation’s Second Annual Pulse of the City Gala

Last Thursday the Cardiovascular Research Foundation hosted its Second Annual Pulse of the City Gala at Gotham Hall. The foundation honored heart transplant specialist Dr. Eric A. Rose, who performed the first pediatric heart transplant. The evening began with cocktails on the Gotham Hall balcony, followed by a dinner where each of the CRF chairs, Dr. Gregg Stone and Dr. Martin Leon, and honorary chair Dr. Jeffrey W. Moses, toasted Dr. Rose and his many accomplishments. This was followed by an emotional video tracking past and current patients and colleagues, including Dr. Mehmet Oz.

My fellow Junior Committee members were in tow including my brother Jarret Moses, Zach Rose, Gabe Rose, Sheehan Raab, Kerry Cassidy and David Chines. Supporters who came to celebrate the honoree and CRF included Ernie Anastos, Dr. Alexandra Lansky, Donna Miles, Sydney Rose, Elbi Balan, Keven Duffy, Inna de Silva, Kristin Snow, Deena Aboodi, Michael Aboodi, and Drew Fulton. All guests were treated to a beautiful night, followed by one of the longest dance parties I’ve been to in a long time! People were shaking their groove things to the band’s stellar play list, all while raising money for a very worthwhile cause.

The gala was kicked off at Country Club two weeks ago at Hotties Against Heart Disease. The Cardiovascular Research Foundation is an independent, academically focused non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of patients with cardiovascular disease.  I definitely see even more success in CRF’s future… or a possible doctors’ dance team.
