Fashion Week Roundup: Last Days at Bryant Park

Yesterday was officially the last day of NYFW and the last time it will be held at Bryant Park. Did you miss out on any Fashion Week shows? Not to worry; we were there to bring you all the coverage. Below is a roundup of some of our favorite shows from the final two days of NYFW...

Tory Burch Fall/Winter 2010 Presentation

Tory Burch succeeded in dragging us out of bed at an ungodly hour to view her newest collection for her eponymous line, and the result was definitely worth the extra shot of espresso. This season Burch stepped out of her UES comfort zone - debuting pieces which took her young label in a riskier, more fashion-oriented direction. Vibrant colors were the norm and we even saw a lavender feather skirt! All in all the pieces were a collective hit of great classic staples with a new twist.

Michael Kors Fall/Winter 2010 Runway Show

Michael Kors continues to battle it out with the likes of Ralph Lauren to assume top billing as the 'All-American' Designer - and with this latest collection he may have just inched ahead of the competition. The king of contemporary sportswear exhibited a near perfect collection of camel toned classics in thick knit wools, ribbed jersey and luxurious furs. And while the first look of a bodysuit paired with a large fur coat and slouched boots may seem in its description to be a tad too risque - it is to Kors credit that the end result is pure American luxury and sophistication. Famous faces sitting front row included Laura Linney, Michael Douglas, Molly Sims and Donald & Melania Trump.

Oscar de le Renta Fall/Winter 2010 Runway Show

Oscar de la Renta did what he does best on Wednesday, presenting once again a beautifully luxurious collection of classic day and eveningwear in vibrant colors and sumptuous fabrics - perfect for the UES lady. Here again we saw immense opulence with fur on practically everything; it seems this obsession with the bad economy and going drab may be over. Jessica Biel took in the collection looking ever the old Hollywood glamour starlet.

3.1 Phillip Lim Fall/Winter 2010 Runway Show

Phillip Lim has emerged from what many thought was a serious misstep with his S/S10 collection to return to his roots: trend-oriented yet simple and versatile pieces. Yet while in the past fashionistas have drooled over his frocks, this season everyone was talking about his outerwear. Case in point were the large wool ponchos and toggle coats seen below. Alexa Chung took in the show from the front row with artist Anh Duong and model Irina Lazareanu - who seemed to be enjoying her turn on the other side of the runway.

Jeremy Scott Fall/Winter 2010 Runway Show

Jeremy Scott showed his collection in a runway show at Milk on Wednesday - and the highly conceptual designer had many famous faces cheering him on in the front row. In attendance were Leigh Lezark, Santogold, Estelle, Kelly Osbourne (who was invited by the designer via Twitter), Waris Ahuwalia, Becka Diamond, Irina Lazareanu, Michael Stipe and Peaches Geldof. But even the famous faces didn't detract from the amazing 90's inspired collection seen on the runway. Scott showcased his love for Jean Paul Gaultier and Madonna with cone-shaped bustiers and bras, black catsuits and leather.

Anna Sui Fall/Winter 2010 Runway Show

Anna Sui staged a massive show in the tents this season. The collection? Well Joe Zee put it best when he tweeted: “I can always count on Anna Sui for: a little Victorian, a little arts and crafts, a little Woodstock, a little goth. And always a lot of fun.” Fashion's elite were joined by Peaches Geldof and Irina Lazareanu to view Sui's collection.

William Rast Fall/Winter 2010 Runway Show

William Rast, the line by Justin Timberlake and his friend Trace Ayala, has always been a ridiculous celebrity affair. The front row littered with JT's famous 'friends' and paparazzi swooping in to catch their photo of the day. This season was a little less of a clusterf**k - only main girl Jessica Biel and Estelle were in attendance which seriously quelled the paparazzi frenzy. Yet while Anna Wintour sat front row, the fare was decidedly uninspiring fashion-wise. The pieces were as if ripped straight from every single F/W 10 runway - military fatigues, large embellished shoulders and leather vests and jackets. Maybe next season will see something a little more original and exciting, huh JT?

Proenza Schouler Fall/Winter 2010 Runway Show

Proenza Schouler's Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough brought out the young downtown crowd as per usual to their show at Milk Studio's Wednesday night. In attendance were Chloe Sevigny, Mary-Kate Olsen, Leigh Lezark, Selma Blair, Rachel Zoe, Terry Richardson, and Vanessa and Victoria Traina as well as fashion's elite like Anna Wintour, Carine Roitfeld and Glenda Bailey. The collection returned to the 80's again - with a decidedly more punk take on leather, school-girl kilts and high-waisted jeans. This season the boys paired their leather pleated kilts with softer outerwear, in some cases loose fur coats and in others cardigans and oxford shirts; giving the harshness of the theme a bit of a respite.

Ralph Lauren Fall/Winter 2010 Runway Show

This season's collection was Edwardian America meets bohemian gypsy - or at least that's what style.com is saying. One thing we can say however is that it was quintessential Ralph Lauren. There were the requisite florals, long skirts, lace and herringbone blazers we've all come to know and love about him. While not as new as last season's newsboy-themed, all denim show, this season was executed true to form with a little velvet (next season's it -fabric) thrown in for good measure. In attendance were Anna Wintour, Glenda Bailey, Joe Zee, Amy Astley and other fashion elite as well as Lauren's children, Dylan Lauren, Andrew Lauren and David Lauren as well as Lauren Bush.

Isaac Mizrahi Fall/Winter 2010 Runway Show

This season saw Mizrahi taking to camping - in Central Park that is; for the born and bred New Yorker that's as outdoorsy as it gets. The theme translated into a winter wonderland - completed with faux snow falling from the ceiling of the tents. As beautiful and theatrical as ever, Mizrahi showed day and evening looks, all with a touch of glamour via fur, beading and/or metallic threading. One of the best pieces was an accent: a separate fur hood thrown over everything from a ballgown or a brocade skirt and silk top.

Calvin Klein Fall/Winter 2010 Runway Show

Francisco Costa is the king of minimalism - and this season his collection for Calvin Klein was even more pared down than usual. Costa exaggerated the female form in his collection, highlighting areas such as with his arc-ed full shoulders and sleeves. The pieces were stiff and sculptural, a style Costa heavily favors. There was no adornment and the color palette was basic neutrals, highlighting the structure of the pieces. While this may sound uninspiring, the drama was in the collection's stark simplicity. 90's supermodels Stella Tenant, Kirsty Hume and Kristen McMenamy all walked in the show - Tenant in a powerfully vibrant navy trench. Front-row attendees, and Costa devotees, included Naomi Watts, Kate Bosworth, Kerry Washington, Isabel Lucas, Daphne Guinness and Helena Christensen.

Tommy Hilfiger Fall/Winter 2010 Runway Show

The last show of NYFW and for the Bryant Park Fashion Tent's was Tommy Hilfiger. While it wasn't your high-end creative fashion brand, Hilfiger did shake things up a little for this season. First off was the involvement of Peter Som; a well-known, if small scale designer, in his own right. Som agreed to work with Hilfiger in exactly what creative capacity it isn't clear, but the collection which walked down the runway last night was a breath of fresh air in what has become a stagnant brand. "Preppy with a Pop" was the show's title, and pieces exemplified this. Out strutted classic tweed blazers made over-sized and cocoon-like. A leather skirt was paired with a simple cardigan; and practically everything was paired with knee-high Duckie boots. Famous faces in the front row included Rosario Dawson, Hayden Panettiere, Ashley Olsen, Ed Westwick and Penn Badgley.
