Fashion Week is always about more than just clothes. It's about beautiful people and champagne and gift bags and parties. Mostly parties. What were the best?
We hit the circuit this week running around in heels and our designer best, taking cabs to event after event into the late hours of the night, rubbed elbows with the glittering elite, and kept our energy up with open bar and free hors d'oeuvres. We've wrangled our energy, racked our memories, and ranked the top parties of the week.

In honor of his Z Spoke line, Zac Posen and Purple Magazine raged up a storm at the Boom Boom Room after a dinner at Mr. Chow's that was more party than meal. The Top of the Standard was packed with A-listers, top talents, and beautiful people...smoking. There was a lot of smoking.
DJ Paul Sevigny spun records from Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band to Grace Jones. Spotted on the dance floor was Alexander Wang, Jason Wu, Chloe Sevigny, and Jared Leto in his crazy snuggie meets the urban jungle coat. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen sat in a booth looking ultra-hip. Kanye West was there, spending the evening closed off by his security guard. Michelle Trachtenberg lounged on the couch and Paz de la Huerta managed to drink somewhat responsibly.
2. RETNA at 500 Washington St., After-Party At Indochine

Happening earlier in the week and not directly having to do with fashion, this event drew fashion royalty. Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld and Andy Valmorbida curated the exhibit by the L.A. street artist, whose worked premiered in New York this week as the first stop of his Hallelujah World Tour. Julia Reston Roitfeld hung with her mother, former French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld, who was seen later at at the private dinner held post- event at Indochine dancing with a drink in hand.
Guests included David Lauren, Brian Atwood, Brian Grazer, Chris Brown, Mark "The Cobrasnake" Hunter, Cory Kennedy, Stacey Bendet-EisnerSante D’Orazio, Alexandra Richards, Andre Saraiva, Vito Schnabel, Olivia Zahm, Derek Blasberg, Byrdie Bell, and Alexandra Richards with her boyfriend Nick Cohen. Mary Kate Olsen, clad in a giant gray fur coat, partied into the wee hours of the night at Indochine, where she slid into a booth to snuggle between Stavros Niarchos and PC Valmorbida.
3. VMan at The Mondrian

There were rumors all day that Kanye West would perform at VMan's party at the unopened Mondrian Soho. The whispering grew to a fever pitch when the man himself showed, sitting in VIP with his entourage and eventually leaving without ever taking the stage. Guests weren't disappointed though. Fake Kanye/VMan dollars rained from the disco ball-adorned ceiling along with $5,000 in cold, hard authentic cash.
Some big names of the night included: Stephen Gan, Cecilia Dean, Keri Hilson, Alexander Wang, Italo Zucchelli, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Fabiola Beracasa, Genevieve Jones, Nary Manivong, Harley Viera- Newton, Bryanboy, Sky Ferreira, DJ Kiss, Vera Wang, Chromeo, Sean Avery, Zoe Kravitz, Leigh Lezark, Brad Goreski...and more.
4. Marc Jacobs After Party at Pier 61

Marc Jacobs' party was possibly the hardest to get into this season. The intimate affair (just 600 friends and employees) took place at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers and was decorated for Valentine's Day with large hearts that said "Make Love Not Mistakes.” Marc Jacobs, Lorenzo Martone, Robert Duffy, Leighton Meester, Sofia Coppola, Michael Pitt, Liya Kebede, Karen Elson were all in attendance, but the big draw of the night was a performance by the Scissor Sisters.
When I Don't Feel Like Dancing came on, the crowd of course, danced the hardest. "Wake up in the morning with a head like 'what ya done?" Oh yes.

Team Bungalow 8, Armin Amiri and Disco, opened the doors of Mister H. Chinatown's new it-club in the Mondrian Soho, and let guests inside for the first time. Bouncers stood outside claiming capacity but energetic and aggressive fashion publicists pulled their invitees inside where they were greeted by red lighting, Shanghai-style decor and a giant neon side “This is not a brothel there are no prostitutes at this address.”
Designer Prabal Gurung tipped back a beer and danced the night away, grabbing people by the shoulders and urging them to move as well, as DJ Mia Moretti spun hits from LCD Soundsystem and Janet Jackson. J. Crew's Jenna Lyons and Barbara Bush were in attendance.

Kanye West (AGAIN!!!), Kanye's body guards, Kid Cudi, Aziz Ansari, Jessica Alba and Tommy Hilfiger took in the looks and hit the beer bar.
7. Rag & Bone at Westway

The long awaited Westway, aka the "Hipster stripclub" from Matt Kliegman and Carlos Quirarte, finally opened its doors. The poles stayed naked lady-less for the night, though a few of the bolder friends of the designers did take them for a twirl to DJ Jonathan Sollis' classic rock. Later in the evening two professional women showed up and took their tops off. Aziz Anasari was in the house, as was Brad Goreski who was busy dodging the rumors that Demi Moore left Rachel Zoe for him. Now that is scandalous!
