Well Congratulations Scott Solish! You got it wrong again! I just spoke with Matt Levine. Not only is Cole Bernard not an investor/partner in the Eldridge, he is not even one in Runway either. His involvement in the Eldridge is simply ordering alcohol for Matt Levine. The owners are Matt Levine and two professional athletes who would like to remain silent partners.
I love how you want to impugn the integrity of others and then just print fairy tales and half truths. And as for you and all the other sites, keep the vitriol coming. You/they are not the target audience and will be standing on the sidelines. You are probably the same people who complained about the Waverly and couldn’t wait for it to shut down. Last night at our dinner at the Waverly, we shared a toast for you and your comrades who were outside on the sidewalks.

I’m not quite sure what Waverly has to do with the price of eggs, but I do chuckle at its mention here as a cultural touchstone. In fact, when I think of these two-Scott and Na’eem–in a restaurant frequented by media, entertainment and artistic somebodies–I am reminded in contrast of just how mediocre they (and this blog, and this entire ridiculous argument) truly are. The thought of them in a room full of this city’s cultural elite trying to hold their own causes a delightful squeal.
It is appalling that I’ve even followed this childish kerfuffle this far, but how could I not? The audacity, shameless self-promotion and pitiful lack of self-awareness exhibited here is truly breathtaking. From the mere thought of such ridiculous pox on Manhattan nightlife (Eldridge), to the weak, duplicitous and intelligence-insulting defense raised by the editor of this blog, at every step the absurdity ratchets up to heretofore unforseen heights.
No one who matters knows, or cares, who any of you people are. In my heart of hearts, I truly wish that this abortion of culture and entertainment succeeds so that all of you may enjoy its nouveau riche, high-school-cafeteria social environs, and leave those of us with something to say (and apparently, with something to do), at Waverly. You’ve created a lovely online space here for the aggressively boring, vapid and socially ignorant, and I hope you all enjoy your new LES hangout.
