Today, we got a hold of the Top 100 Clubs in the US list, hot off the presses from Nightclub and Bar Magazine. The list isn’t up online yet, so I dutifully copied the first half below for you to feast your eyes on, by club name, city, and 2008’s total revenue (these numbers will most likely drop precipitously in 2009). We see our friends over at Pink Elephant took the #3 spot (not to mention the ONLY NYC club in the top 20). Congrats Mr. Pink Elephant!
That being said, some of these numbers could very well be baked like Enron’s books. Gofg isn’t going to take a stab at authenticity, rather we’ll let the commentors decide which is fact and which is fiction.

rachelle are you fuckin kidding me!!! this a fuckin joke right???? pink elephant is open 4 nights a week (or 208 days a year) so those numbers imply pink elephant is doing between $168K and 240K a night!!!! IMPOSSIBLE, please learn how to report things that are remotely truthful. pink does 10 million (which is still very good) at best.
Don’t shoot the messenger (Rachelle).
I will say this, the numbers are from ‘08 and, as Stanley said NOT OURS. Though every year this list is looked at by people in the nightlife world.
Golly jinx, that there’s a dang buncha money, why heck we could run Nuhbrasker for a year on that kinda cash.
February 19, 2009 1:31pm
It would be absolutely impossible for Pink to make that money. It is a mistake!!
February 19, 2009 1:45pm
Anyone else think they are talking about Pink Elephant in the HAMPTONS and not NYC?
February 19, 2009 2:10pm
Wrong! It’s completely impossible that PINK made that amount of money in 08′ even if they tried to pretend to include their earnings for Cabana’s (which made record earnings this year compared to the past thanks to their short/bald/bi-polar French Doorman) and Tavern (which stayed in the Red all the way til the end) in Hamptons this past summer. Let’s also keep in mind, we all know nightclubs dont actually claim half of what they make in a night, which in this case would bring the numbers up to 70 - 100MM. I mean, seriously!?
I have yet to fathom why Pink (out of all the clubs in The City) keeps coming up in your posts!? Haven’t you realized by now you’re only getting constant negative feedback?
February 19, 2009 2:36pm
Entire list is off. Do yourself a favor and take it down until you get real, credible numbers. Makes this site look cheap, for lack of a better word.
February 19, 2009 2:39pm
Christian Audgier didnt do $7mil.
Blush did $7-$8mil.
JET didnt touch $20mil.
Pink Elephant… ha.
The Bank was no where near $30mil.
I wonder what all these club owners would say if they knew their accountants were spending so much time on GOAG, Rachelle!
February 19, 2009 6:00pm
Maybe Pink Elephant #’s are a combined of Hamptons, NYC, Brazil, Miami and their other spots( jsut taking a gander)
But all these #s are off. China club isnt even open! lol Dont get too blown away by this. But, it is what it is. Pink Is still the best club in the City, regardless.
February 19, 2009 6:01pm
There is an Ed Hardy nightclub??? Now THAT is funny!
February 20, 2009 11:49am
Kilroy’s Sports Bar in Blomington Indiana?? Where the hell is that? Anyone been there?
February 20, 2009 3:24pm
Tryst is the most lucrative nightclub in the US. Tao’s numbers are off because they’re adding the restaurant’s revenues in with their nightclub revenue.
No way Pink did numbers like that. They’re best night of recent memory was like $250k. Vegas nightclubs do $500k a week on average, the big ones closer to $750k/week
Blush did $16M
Bloomington Indiana. Home of the Indiana Hoosiers. Big Sports Bar, family run. Dance floor upstairs, djs and live music rotated through the downstairs stage. Place is very eclectic, lots to do for college students and Bloomingtonians alike. Two floors, two outdoor patios, 30 some tvs in the place. New renovations every year, the newest will be done by April!! Check it out.
Kilroys is a small bar next to Indiana university campus in bloomington indiana. I have been there a million times to hook up with frat dudes. I am horny right now just thinking about it. I have pix
February 20, 2009 3:54pm
Kilroys Sports Bar is a College bar at Indiana University.
February 20, 2009 4:04pm
Kilroy - You’re kidding, right? I’m profoundly sadden someone knows this. Applause to you.
February 20, 2009 5:15pm
One of the above posts is talking about Kilroy’s Sports bar, often referred to as “Sports”, this article is clearly talking about Kilroy’s on Kirkwood, often referred to as “Kilroy’s.” Both are owned by the same people and in close proimity to each other on the Indiana University Campus.
When at “Kilroy’s” beware of the birth canal!
Hahaha, ‘roys? You’re kidding, right?

February 20, 2009 11:58pm
So many great nights at Kilroys. B-town in the house.
February 21, 2009 12:42am
Kilroys Sports Bar is no Las Vegas club, but it is the best bar in Bloomington, and Bloomington is the best college town in the country (Playboy magazine consistently rates Indiana University, located in Bloomington, as (among) the best party school(s) in the nation).
Kudos to the Number 10 Spot! Seacrets!! Ocean City MD.
February 21, 2009 12:36pm
And to think, we do 90% of our business in 4 months out of the year, and open only weekends most the other months…
February 21, 2009 7:23pm
Pink does 120 a week if they are lucky ! ……their wed on a good night does 15 k…..their thurs does about 18 and fri and sat might , might do 70k between them. In the hamptons they havent done more than 2 million in a season. Plus they are going bankrupt their partners are bailing and their stable of highend table buyers and promoters turned their backs on pink well over a year ago for places like Kiss and Fly and One Oak. This time next year they probably wont even be open.
February 22, 2009 12:40pm
Kilroys Sports Bar is at Indiana University. Hottest Girls at any school in USA. ask anyone….
February 23, 2009 12:53am
okay okay. this list is the largest grossing clubs in the US.
the best club in new york city is rose bar.
February 23, 2009 11:28am
If you don’t like Kilroy’s, you’re probably some weirdy who is into dudes and the Runcible Spoon and Fiji.
Good spot to drink beers and watch NY kids drive their daddy’s 3-series down Kirkwood while progressing to the “townies” playing hacky-sack across the street. This place is magestc.
February 23, 2009 12:28pm
It should probably be mentioned that drinks in Bloomington, IN average $3-$5 on a weekend night, not to mention half price Wednesdays and $2 Thursdays. Compared to Vegas, NYC, Miami, etc. prices … Indiana students frequent the bars more and are drinking more cocktails to keep up with the same yearly earnings. That being said, IU parties harder than you pregame.
February 23, 2009 12:49pm
DCrow, you must be out of your damn mind if you think this list means Kilroy’s on Kirkwood. It’s Sports for sure. If you think that Kilroys makes more money than Sports, you obviously don’t know anything about Bloomington.
February 23, 2009 2:30pm
they are talking about sports for sure. this place is rolling is cash. i swear its a mob scene outside of this place every weekend. Not to mention over thousands of poeple move in and house and there are hundreds of people in line waiting to spend $.
February 23, 2009 2:34pm
Bloomington sucks! The amount of alcohol consumed is in reaction to the terrible IU campus and its highly-homosexual campus(research to prove it). If you want to drink with douchebags and diseased, fugly sluts, I would say this is the place for you
February 23, 2009 3:41pm
clearly hoosierddd, you have NOT visited Bloomington. If you had, you would know that it IS one of the country’s MOST beautiful campuses. You would be hard pressed to find an IU building not made out of limestone.
There is a gay population, however that is most likely due to it’s world class music and performing arts programs, that enhance Bloomington culture.
Also as mentioned above IU is almost always ranked extremely high for attractive girls.
This article is most definately refering to “Sports” not the Kirkwood bar.
I can’t believe I have never even noticed the existence of Indiana.
February 23, 2009 5:08pm
This list must have been compiled by some Biased NY Jap with indiana ties. That 10-20 million dollars is not a big ball park at all. There is no way in hell Sports generates that much money. Consider the fact that they only get customers 30 weeks a year ( it is absolutely dead every night of the summer) With a 3-5 cover and 4 dollar liquor, thats a lot of drinks and a lot of people to generate $500,000 a week for those 30 weeks… If it is true, it just proves why bloomington is such a shit hole “college town” Every single Click must only goto the same bar every single night… seems real fun and adventurous…
February 23, 2009 9:04pm
David….obviously u must have been one of the kids stuck outside in line. Sorry dude. At least they had heaters out there for you.
February 24, 2009 9:51am
While I have trouble believing Sports generates 10-20 million it does make some money. Its family owned. Bloomington is glorious. A wonderful bubble in the state of IN. David is obviously in the minority who did not enjoy IU and couldn’t make friends. David you are lame and dumb. Thank you.
February 24, 2009 10:40am
Sports is incredible. Thinking about it makes me want to fly back for the weekend
February 24, 2009 11:03am
For you idiots responding to my comment, I didnt even goto IU… but have been to sports before and know what its all about…20 million for that place is insane!
Isn’t there some sort of woohooindiana forum you hicks could slap fight each other in?
The Kilroys they are talking about in this list is “Sports” not Kilroys on Kirkwood. I worked at sports for a summer, it is one of the highest revenue bars in the midwest. Big ups to out of staters who went to IU
What exactly are the factors for this? If it’s just revenue than it doesn’t necessary mean it’s a cool spot. In L.A. The Highlands sucks ass, balls and cock. It’s for the tourist who don’t know whats cool and the crowd is hideous looking. Great space and versatile but it’s at the mall. As long as those fugs got there and not venture out it serves a purpose.
Avalon, well they got a lot of concerts roll thru for a live venue and great private press events not open to the public. They’re club nights leave much to be desired. Audience is filled with too many washing machine people that stink. The hottest girls there have a penis. Giant at Vanguard has better DJ bookings and better looking people without a doubt. Better sounds and lighting too, but is also plagued by washing machine people. Avalon gets kudos for trying; the electro night on fri is cool. The addition of Bardot upstairs is a step in the right direction.
February 26, 2009 4:00pm
The rankings are based on volume purchased at the bar, with an arbitrary dollar amount associated with each type of drink, said co-owner Maggie Prall. This makes it possible for bars where drinks cost less, such as Sports – as compared to bars in New York, for example – to make the list.
If it was based on gross sales, chances are that Sports would not be as highly ranked
February 26, 2009 4:24pm
Is Virgin’s in Chicago actually supposed to be Vision??
February 26, 2009 7:56pm
wingsandhalo,
Virgin Lounge is the name of the club in West Loop.
February 27, 2009 2:05pm
I bet Kilroy’s in Bloomington nets over $4billion bananas year!! B-ton has serious soul and culture. It has the highest concentration of Buddhist monks in the country on a truly serene wooded spot. It also boasts amazing ethnic restaurants and a well-known music scene and art scene. IU also hosts a much respected intellectual community. Overall Bloomington, alongside IU) is an extremely well-developed society which brings people in from all over the world. Kilroys brings in the cheddar cheese, but no where close to $20M…that is preposterous monnihogglebock! Whatever the fuck that means…the point is that you need to take your ass to Bloomington and go on an epic three day bender. If you walk away feeling as if you weren’t just on a vacation involving beautiful college women in a euphoric haze this means that you might be wired wrong and you should get that checked out!!!
February 27, 2009 2:14pm
b-town what!?! - maybe YOU should get looked at. i have the number of the psych ward in bloomington, or maybe you should dry out…indiana is an empty soul and kilroy’s medicates the masses b/c there is nothing else to in that dirtstar! most people who party there and fall into it deal with alcoholism and serious drug problems after graduation. rehab should be mandatory to graduate from that dump. twenty million is not right and top party school is nothing to be proud of…
February 27, 2009 2:20pm
GET BACK TO WORK
February 27, 2009 3:31pm
Umm…#25 says Virgins in Chicago. There is no Virgins nightclub in Chicago!! Perhaps they mean Vision..that would make more sense. Obviously this list is wrong!!!!
March 3, 2009 1:23pm
Purgatory in Dallas is #23 and It’s bad ass
March 4, 2009 10:14pm
#25….Virgins closed down a couple years ago. It has to be Vision.
March 4, 2009 11:14pm
quoting huh?!- ” top party school is nothing to be proud of…”
Are you retarded? Do everyone a favor and go play in traffic. IU grads have drug addiction problems? Where did you go to school, Purdouche?
March 5, 2009 11:11am
IU is a party school, but it also has one of the top ranked business schools in the country(grad and undergrad) it has one of the top music schools in the country, hell the list goes on as all of our departments are top 40 in the country with music and business school top 20. Those kind of academics at a public school? not to mention little 500 which is tabbed as the “great college weekend” anywhere. Dont hate on IU because your school didn’t have an amazing bar.
HO HO HOOOOSIERS
March 5, 2009 4:21pm
huh?!- ” top party school is nothing to be proud of…”
You must be the biggest fag ever and have no friends. I went to college not only to learn, but also to party, drink, and random hookups, which is why I went to IU. Just because you look like a douche and can’t get any except from the whales you snag at the library doesn’t mean you can hate on IU.
March 6, 2009 2:19pm
36th! Get um Roy’s
March 8, 2009 2:04pm
Rizzz - I’m pretty sure you’re gay. More to the point…all of the people replying to “huh?!” are inarticulate embarrassments to their families. I’m all for IU and roys, but if you’re going to defend the place, try to sound like you still have a fucking brain cell left. You fucking meathead, it would be better for roys if you just kept your comments to yourself. Heywood- Purdouche? You sound like the douche buddy. Hopefully you’re a big dude who can muscle their way through life because your brain obviously functions at the level of a two-year rendering any thoughts you might have worthless to the rest of us. Relax, most people already know this about you…
March 11, 2009 3:47am
I’m a promoter for Purgatory on its Thursday night college night, and it is pretty bumping with 3 stories of dance floors. Plus a forth for vip.. Dallas has a great nightlife scene with greenville ave, and deep elm. You can walk the streets find a awesome bar with tons of people on the dance floor.
ladies, gentlemen, get your panties out of your arse crack. its marketing. the list is media. its all bullshit. who has the bigger pr penis.
March 20, 2009 4:02am
The biggest problem with this list is the huge difference between $11 million and $19 million. They don’t make the distinction. So how do they decide to put one place at #22 and the next at #32 etc.? I think generally they are in the ballpark with a lot of these picks, but the ballpark is too big.
April 28, 2009 5:01pm
Sports
May 27, 2009 5:17pm
And, sekkir, you’re right - how attractive a bar is depends completely on its revenue generation. I ALWAYS check a bar’s balance sheet and income statement prior to going. And, you wonder why you are stuck drinking natty light on tap alone at the corner bar “with the strongest financials”!!!! DUMBARSE!
June 1, 2009 5:43pm
XS @ Encore should be #1 club in the US. Just got back from vegas and all I have to say “AMAZING!”
August 17, 2009 9:42pm
XS will definately be number 1 for 2009 but this list was for 2008 and XS opened on New Years.
November 16, 2009 7:21pm
Honestly this list is completely wrong XS (Las Vegas) @ Encore and LIV @ Fontaine Bleau (Miami) are by far the best night clubs I have been to in the U.S. and I was told Mansion which I really liked was number 2 in the U.S. as a venue. I think the list is garbage and is really all media.
