Not Your Average Birthday Party; Not Your Average Girl…Keren Eldad

What do you get when you mix about 50 of Manhattan’s most sexy “Beasts”, some Veuve Clicquot, a few signature Kerentinis (a la Belvedere vodka) and the force of nature that is Keren Eldad? If you don’t know, it’s probably because you were not invited! I’m talking about the fabulous Keren Eldad’s Birthday Celebration sponsored by The Supper Club of New York. Tamsin Lonsdale and Richie Rich hosted a hell of an ‘enchanted evening’ themed fete at South Gate at the Jumeirah Essex House to honor Keren last Wednesday.

The party was truly over the top and flooded with the perfect mix of uptown and downtown Keren fans, who sipped champagne and Kerentinis. That’s right, when you are cool enough to have a cocktail named after you, there’s sure to be a fun party thrown in your honor.

Keren and I mused about how amazingly “Penelope Cruz” she looked with her perfectly blown-out dark hair and seductively sparkling black Keith Lissner pleated dress. In fact, this dark mystical goddess lit up the room at her own birthday party! If you have not (yet) met Keren that is as shocking as it is a shame. I only met her this summer (at the Navan Chill out at Cleo Spa) and we became instant friends. Not because it was necessarily fated (okay it was), but because she is one of the most friendly, gracious and vivacious people I have ever met. Her instant magnetism would have you at hello, too. There was no escaping friendship.

I spent the night working the crowd at the party playing the “so how do you know Keren” game. The stories were amazing because they were all completely random and completely great — and exactly what you would expect from Keren. This bombshell Israeli girl collects some bright characters and invites them into her fantastic world. Pretty much everyone I met that night was drawn into Keren’s world as quickly as I was. Even with the room as filled up as it was, Keren made time for everyone. She has this uncanny way of making those around her feel special.

Among those “feeling special” were dreamy designer Keith Lissner, Corcoran Sunshine’s Marketing Director Lilly Schonwald, Allure’s beautiful Beauty Go to Girl Victoria Kirby, Sweet as pie British Bazaar writer Melissa Whitworth, newly crowned AOL Style Girl Melissa Foss, Supper Club’s Fabulous Hostess Tamsin Lonsdale, Converse Designer Baby Chic (who I was always dying to meet AND he sat at my table), designer Yigal Azrouel, Brant Stead, Favorite scribe Joshua David Stein, Beaming and Brilliant author of Schooled Anisha Lakhani (who ended up signing her books that were tucked into the gift bags), Heatherette’s Richie Rich, Hilary Rowland, Erin Hawker, Reed Woodson, and singer Alexa Wilding.

We dined on a luxe 3 course meal with several wine pairings. The main courses of Roasted Cod or Filet Mignon were seriously delicious. Right before dessert, a shotail (more of a shot as opposed to cocktail) which was a Grand Mariner concoction came out and we sang Happy Birthday to Keren. Some dancing happened, a lot of hugs, a few air kisses and even a few “I love you’s” – which were mainly showered upon the 26 year old party girl of the night!! I cannot wait for Keren to turn 26 again next year!
