June 21st is supposedly the day to celebrate summer and music. And considering the bad weather, the only thing left to celebrate was (good) music. To do so, the regular way was to go out in a bar, attend an open-air gig or your 7-year-old nephew’s performance in the school band. The fancy way was to get your ticket for Daniel Buren Monumenta’s closing party at the Grand Palais.
Then brag about it all week long, find the perfect little white dress (and invisible underwear to go with it) and just enjoy the incredible light and music show, brilliantly organized by We Love and The Creators Projects. Back-to-back DJ sets of Caribou, Four Tet and Jamie Xx captivated the crowd all night long, including French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault. How f**ing fancy is that?
