On Monday night, The Barbarian Group teamed up with Tumblr to throw the biggest rock party at SXSW interactive 2012. The masses took over Mohawk and Club DeVille, two of the hottest venues in Austin, to close out the interactive portion of SXSW. This was the only official SXSW show that was free and open to the public and it attracted an eclectic crowd itching to kick off the music festival.
The bands to hit the stage included WAVVES, Sleep Over, Kool Keith, Japandroids, Beach Fossils, Bear in Heaven, Matthew Dear, and The Young.
Travis McCutcheon (@earth2travis) tweeted:
Getting my #robotrip on with @tumblr. Got Kool Keith on the menu!
Here is how the crowd got their Robotrip on:
Some people showed up solo
Others wished they were ridin' solo
Awkward friendships developed...possibly with Jesus
Some rallied in a different way
The foodies feasted, big time
People got tatted-up
Some brought out classic dance moves
Others decided to double-fist
But the masses, chugged five hour energies and got their Robotrip on.
With the night's insane line-up
