The grand revelation of the new David H. Koch Hall at the Lincoln Center was replete with the trappings of any proper uptown event: Old monied men and their newly acquired wives, Hamish Bowles representing Vogue and enough champagne and diamonds to forget a recession ever existed. However, much like the modernization of the building, there were some new and surprising aspects to the event as well… More »
[Robert Fowler III gets some Birthday loving from Simon van Kempen] The always stylish Robert Fowler, boy-about-everywhere (oh yeah, and I guess he works at John Varvatos when he’s not out partying), threw everyone for a loop by having a “NO List… NO Line… NO Theme…” super casual 26th Birthday… And by super casual we mean a open bar packed with a roster of NYC’s socials, fashion plates, and reality-stars that is More »
Stephanie and Jesse Newhouse’s apartment at 720 Park looked more like a movie set than an NYC apartment for their Halloween party, and the majority of the guests (including Simon van Kempen and Alex McCord) were so decked out for Halloween, it’s hard to imagine they got dressed without the aid of Hollywood costumers. Cipriani 42nd Street was completely decked out last night for a party fit for a king (or at least a Sovereign Prince of the most famous European Principality). At the 26th Annual Princess Grace Awards Gala, Prince Albert II (Uncle to Charlotte and Andrea Casiraghi), along with his beautiful Australian Olympic swimmer girlfriend, honored the emerging writers, dancers, and filmmakers who received the coveted 2009 awards. Attendees, including Tommy Hilfiger, Martha Plimpton, Mariska Hargitay, Buzz Aldrin, Simon Van Kempen and Alex McCord were all dressed to the nines in some of the most elegant gowns and tuxes we’ve seen all season. [All photos by WILL RAGOZZINO for PMc]. Last night, Heather Graham helped unveil a textile made from Spider silk last night, which sounds like it would be gross and sticky, although we’re sure Tinsley Mortimer wouldn’t have wrapped herself in it quite as willingly if it was. The party was held at The Natural History Museum, where the silk, made from one million wild spiders, will be on display. LuAnn de Lesseps, Alex McCord and Simon van Kempen, Nicole Miller, Maggie Rizer, and Philip Bloch all attended. Hopefully these fashion gurus won’t get any ideas for Fall 2010 lines made from spiders…. More »
[All photos by THOMAS CANTLEY for PMc]. We don’t pretend to be experts about what constitutes a “most stylish” individual, but we’re pretty sure a coke peddling, cyber-sex lovingstar of the Real Housewivesof NJ isn’t a great representation. But that’s just us. Aaaanyway, Us Weekly gathered their selections to accept the title last night at Avenue, among them some true depictions of the honor. So who made the list?
