[Cologne Schmidt and her friends are certainty not going to waste this precious time of their lives. Above, kicking in the mud at "All Points West"]
“You’re never too old to become younger.” -Mae West
Summer is not over yet. Take some hints from Cologne Schmidt and her beautiful friends: Get out there and enjoy your youths! We patiently await a report on this adventure from Cologne (stay tuned), in the meantime, a preview of her adventures at All Points West concert series this summer…. More »
[Fans waiting to see Arctic Monkeys at All Points West. Photos by Ben Hider for Flavorpill]. This year’s band line-up for All Points West, the biggest and loudest three-day music festival to hit the tri-state area in years, was nothing less than jaw-dropping when it was first announced months ago. With performers like the Beastie-Boys, MGMT, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Crystal Castles and Coldplay all in the same weekend, the festival was destined for Indie greatness and by all means lived up to the hype. We don’t mean to tease, but we can’t resist giving you another little taste of the dramatic stage presence at All Points West. Jay-Z stole the show with his Friday set, proving that being a major label executive and doing the whole married thing is certainly not about to weigh on his ability to rock the crowd. Even if we hadn’t caught the raps and rhymes, the look on Jigga Man’s face, alone (and the man is wearing sunglasses, mind you), is probably enough to keep us spellbound. Stay tuned for full coverage, coming soon.

This weekend, the 2009 All Points West Music & Arts Festival in Liberty State Park took over Jersey City, offering the tri-state area incredible entertainment a whole lot more accessible than the treks required for Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, or several of the other music must-sees. More »

Last night’s Arlo Guthrie concert in Battery Park for the River to River Festivallooked pretty chill, but let’s be honest here: the real party is going to be tonight’s kick-off of the All Points Westmusic festival at Liberty State Park. Jay-Z is headlining! (The Beastie Boys were supposed to, but Adam Yauch sadly came down with a wee bit of throat cancer.) More »
The schedule for the All Points West Music and Arts Festival is here and our favorite geeks at College Humor will be performing all three days! Fitting? [Ricky Van Veen]
Oegle is a brand-new service for dorks to meet friends online! YIPEE! Go to the website that picks another random user to have a one-on-one chat with each other. Chats are completely anonymous though “there is nothing to stop you from revealing personal details.” Seems like a great idea with absolutely zero chances of negative effects….NOT! [Omegle]
I, along with everyone else I know, am obsessing over The Virgins. I loved it when I see them turn up on friend’s facebook pages, and can not wait to see them live. Listen to their new album HERE, and for my mutually agree upon favorite video by the band go HERE. They just completed a show at the ever popular All Points West concert last weekend, and will be at the Santos party on August 27th in NYC.
$258.00 was the pricetag for the three day concert series “All Points West” at Liberty State Park this past weekend. Small price to pay to get to see Radiohead (one of the best bands of our time) open not ONE but TWO nights as headliner. The event was organized in party by Goldenvoice, the braintrust behind Coachella. The location, a historic field overlooking both Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty invited many reverse commuters to venture off the island. This one especially, at the Girl Talk show, seems to be enjoying himself.
All Points West Music & Arts Festival starts today over at Liberty Square Park. I am so bummed that I’m missing out on this concert and jealous of Ben Kaufman, who will be there front and center enjoying bands like:
