On Wednesday evening Tommy Hilfiger got back to his roots, “If it wasn’t for rock and roll I would have never been a designer” and partied hard for the launch of his Rock Scene Collection in collaboration with Marky Ramone and Paper Magazine. At the Soho Denim NYC store guests like daughter and social Ally Hilfiger, Russell Simmons, Alexandra Alexis, Adrien Field, Paul Guevara, Tina Parol, Audrey Quock, Julie Henderson, took his message to heart with a ton of cocktails and a live performance from Marky Ramone’s Blitzkrieg.

Last night, Donna Karan’s Urban Zen Foundation previewed its newest exhibit, entitled Nomad: Two Worlds. The foundation’s mission is to spearhead global change at the levels of health, child empowerment, and cultural preservation, while raising money through innovative artistic projects. Russell James‘ current photographic exhibition documents the lives of Aboriginal peoples in his native Australia. The event was hosted by Hugh Jackman, as well as Australian Consul General John Olson, and was attended by a host of New York art and fashion industry heavyweights, including Anna Wintour, Ally Hilfiger, Iman, Carson Kressley, Martha Stewart, Nicole Miller, and Shelby Bryan.

“Life is a banquet and most poor son of a bitches are starving to death.” - Auntie Mame

Last night we sampled the banquet that is New York nightlife, and we ate so much we nearly puked. We started the night at the Children’s Rights Foundation’s Annual Event. Our good friend Greg Link was one of the nights’ hosts and the event was sponsored by Lucky Magazine at the Blue & Cream store on Bowery. We were thrilled to see (tiny) Tim Garcia and meet the current Miss USA, Colorado native, Hilary Carol Cruz. After checking out the store and the cute crowd, we grabbed a gift bag and were out the door.

Our next stop was a few blocks away so we strolled on over to Club 205 for Richie Rich’s “Rox and Riley” Footwear Launch Party hosted by Andy Hilfiger and Lydia Hearst… More»

[Izzy Gold with Leven Rambin]

Remember Izzy Gold? (Pictured above with our girl Leven) This summer we became somewhat obsessed with the man after seeing his shit splattered all over the Blue and Cream in the Hamptons, the LES, and Olivia Palermo. We have since kind of lost touch with all things Gold, and feel almost bad about not being the ones that were FIRST to post on his collaboration with Ally Hilfiger for her “multimedia installation” at the Chelsea Art Museum. Ally, who touches on her father’s support for NYMag holds a firm belief that you can explore all your creative aspects, saying: “I produce films, I paint, I’ve helped my father design clothes since I was 11 years old.” and that “Our generation is into more of a multithing. It’s kind of like we’re our parents generation, but with ADD.”

If you care to see the collaborative efforts of these two youthful enthusiasts, it will be on display tomorrow night at the museum. Izzy Gold aka Francesco Chivetta, describes his work as “Warhol-esque Lichtenstein with a slight case of Basquiat.”  Hmmm…trite, and hubristic, doncha think?  Oh, and FYI our writing style at guestofaguest can be best described as Kerouac-esque William F. Borroughs with a smidgen of Choire Sicha.
