Francophiles, architectural enthusiasts and everyone in between gathered last night for the Young Patrons Circle of the American Friends of the Louvre Second Annual Benefit. This year the fete celebrated the Louvre Pyramid, designed by preeminent architect (and genius) I.M. Pei. Pei was fittingly honored at The Centurion penthouse, one of the world's first residential building designed by Pei Partnership Architects and co-developed by Stillman Development International. And what a building it is! More»

Last night, the Young Patrons Circle for the American Friends of the Louvre held their kick-off party for the Soiree au Louvre. Designer Maggie Norris, along with YPC members David Chines and Gustaf Demarchelier, entertained guests at the private residence of cocktail party queen, Tracy Stern. Francophiles and socials alike sipped on Nuvo (L’esprit de Paris, of course) and white wine, enjoying the Upper East Side views and gracious company.

For today's Picking at PMC, I went straight to NY Social Diary and what do you know? One of gofg's very own was the profile for The Young Patrons Circle of American Friends of the Louvre's (AFL) inaugural New York benefit, Soirée au Louvre.

More than 200 gathered last week at Escape for the event which Eric wrote about for us here. Now...on to my top pics:

  1. Eric Spear: Looking handsome as ever.  This guy is like a golden god, with his think blond hair and radient skin, I keep telling him he should be in show business.  I love the details in his button down white shirt.
  2. Paul McCabe and Jenny Ulving: Paul McCabe is a good friend, and one of the best art dealers around.  I first met him randomly when he joined our table at the Waverly one night, and, after some pinot and mac 'n cheese, I knew that I had found my future go-to for all things art.  The guy carries his smile as his finest accessory always, well, make that his second: his fiance Jenny is an absolutely stunning compliment. Another busy night socializing is responsible for my afternoon weariness. Two wonderful events, the LGBT Networking event and The American Friends of the Louvre benefit have, like many other events, made my morning vanish and my afternoon slow.

I began my evening sharply at six atop the Hotel Gansevoort where the view is just as unique as the hotel. Anually Paul Wiess, Esq., holds a networking event annually for the LGBT community. 600 men and woman in banking and law (and a couple from the fashion industry, of course) gathered on the rooftop to enjoy an amazing food spread and refreshing cocktails.
