Kicking off Fashion Week Milan, AmfAR held an auction and show at La Permanente, which houses the city’s fine art. Chaired by Janet Jackson, the event raised a $1.1 million gift. Kanye West, Bianca Brandolini d’Adda, Donatella Versace, Chanel Iman, Rachel Bilson, Eva Herzigova, Poppy Delevinge, Margherita Missoni and Renzo Rosso were just some from an elite guest list gracing the red carpet. New York celebrated gay pride yesterday with the parade during the day and parties all over the city during the evening. I played co-host to probably the only party where the guests kept their shirts on. The party was called Pride and was presented by Mr. Patrick Duffy, along with media sponsor Interview Magazine and liquor sponsor Belvedere vodka. More»

This weekend’s gay pride celebrations came to an end last night with PRIDE, an exclusive invite-only party, at held at The Standard. Pegged as a “new take on pride festivities,” PRIDE set itself apart from the “norm of raucous, semi-nude, spandex clad parties,” attracting a crowd of LGBT heavyweights in fashion, art, politics, and culture. Hosts included staples in New York City’s social scene and gay community such as Alan Cumming (who seemed to be at every party this weekend), Scott Buchheit, Patrick McMullan, Sophia Lamar, and others. The annual black-tie benefit at Cipriani 42nd Street for amfAR, the Foundation for Aids Research, drew celebrities from the fashion, music, and art crowd to kick off Fall 2009 Fashion Week. Guests of honor included the dazzling Liza Minelli and Donna Karan, while among the star-studded crowd were Calvin Klein, Rachel Zoe, Rose Byrne, Taylor Momsen, Mary Alice Stephenson, Mary J. Blige, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Doutzen Kroes, Jessica Stam, and Dick Cavette.
