Kipton Cronkite, Olivia Palermo [All photos by CLINT SPAULDING for PMc]. Fashion is in the air, speeding our recovery from the end of summer slump. Last night, Longchamp and Elle hosted a performance by pianist Eldar at the uptown store to benefit the Kipton Art Foundation. The charity namesake was there with Olivia Palermo, Kelly Cutrone, Anisha Lakhani, Kimberly Guilfoyle Villency, Anne Slowey, Chessy Wilson, Zev Eisenberg, Scott Buccheit, Robert Fowler, Whitney Port, Minnie Mortimer, Stephen Gaghan and Maggie Rizer; a group who will maintain very busy schedules over the next two weeks as tent time arrives in Bryant Park. The guests relaxed with the contemporary jazz tracks, a glimpse of the musician's recently released "Virtue" album.

Last night, RiRi and her hair-do ventured to Soho where she stopped by the Derek Lam boutique opening to show her support for the designer and his new Crosby Street location. The singer joined Lam's closest friends and family including the likes of Anna Wintour, LA Reid, Nate Berkus, Lam's longtime partner Jan-Hendrik Schlottman, Phillip Lim, Derek Blasberg, Fern Mallis, and the crutches-adorned Anne Slowey.

The New York City Ballet Young Patrons Circle hosted an event last night at Ports 1961, sponsored by Elle Magazine. The evening’s guests included Robbie Myers, Tallulah Sipoqitz, Tia Cibani, Michelle Miller, Cheryl Smith, Jules Kirby, David Chines, Judy Sanders, as well as a group of (very cute) NYC ballet dancers. The fete opens up the ballet’s spring 2009 season at Lincoln Center. In the end, partygoers received a great gift bag, complete with a 50% off voucher for NYC Ballet tickets—very recession friendly, New York Ballet!
