[Photo via] After sitting cold on the market for over two years, Frank Lloyd Wright's 12,000 square-foot concrete "textile-block" Ennis House in Los Feliz finally has a new owner in billionaire Ron Burkle. The Mayan-influenced landmark is one of the architect's most celebrated structures and was originally listed in June 2009 at an asking price of $15 million by its preservation group. Since no one was biting, Burkle just swooped it up for a measly $4.5 making him the Ennis House fairy godmother it desperately needed. More»

This weekend, the Designer Pages IDNY party started the International Contemporary Furniture Festival off right. Guests from the design and architecture community descended on Blu Dot Soho, where they enjoyed a cocktail party atmosphere with design-centric flair. With rising rents all across the city, it's surely not news that the outer boroughs have experienced a surge in construction and an influx of inhabitants. It's a common phenomena, one that is only increasing as the economy wavers. Take Astoria for instance, once home to a large population of Greeks and Italians, which is seeing a strong trickle of youth. But, I'm not here to discuss demographics, rather the housing itself.
