Our site lives by the party cycle - Sundance in January, then Fashion Month, SXSW, The Hamptons, Fashion Month, Benefit Season, Art Basel, Holiday parties, New Year's Eve, and back to Sundance. Even with the help of Foursquare logs, it's hard to remember which nights were magical and which ended in disaster, so we polled a collection of friends in fashion, technology, and nightlife to tease out the most memorable moments and best parties of the year that was.

Yesterday, we briefly discussed the wonder and mystery of Art Basel Miami, which is basically the Downtown Art Walk, only it lasts several days and the free booze and art is better. I devoted my final day in Miami to the Convention Center along with those who were at Art Basel for the actual art. Between Basel, NADA, and a few other smaller fairs, the amount of art to see is quite overwhelming. More»

As we may have mentioned once or twice, our eyes were turned east this weekend towards our favorite city in all of South America, Miami, as they celebrated Art Basel. Tumblr is down and this list is going to be much harder to complete. Other shocks: it's cold! And, snowing! Basel came and went in a flurry of art, sunshine, and of course, parties. Playboy did what it does best and celebrated the female figure, Paper Magazine brunched while Interview and LVMH held a dinner. Meanwhile, I/D enjoyed the view of the bay from the Mondrian. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, and with our beloved Cobrasnake in South Beach for Art Basel (along with what seems like everyone but us) L.A. feels a little less outrageous. Luckily, before his departure, he was able to capture one last night of SoCal debauchery... in a limo. More»
